The property has been owned by traditional Douro families for a century and was rebuilt, at the same time that the vineyard was planted in 1988. The original configuration and structure were maintained, and the intervention used the most charismatic materials of the area, such as schist. The interior is elegant and romantic, with modern kitchens and bathrooms to the most modern standards of comfort. Secluded living areas, each with their own view, give Villa Lavender its idyllic charm and during the summer the balcony is the heart of the house as it is the perfect place to eat and drink and enjoy the stunning views.
The modern swimming pool is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view over the Douro and the Rio Torto valley in the distance. While it can be the perfect retreat away from it all, there can also be plenty of fun to be had within the property's excellent leisure areas, or stroll down the river on a private sailboat or yacht, stopping for wine tasting or lunch and cultural and historical tours of the region.
