Situated in the middle of a huge kiwi and apple orchard in Quinta do Ameal, Casa dos Esteios is a restored 19th century farmhouse and is one of our splendid villas close to the Douro Valley. The banks of this famous river are just 3 km away and boat trips can be enjoyed on the Douro River and the Tâmega River in Portugal's world-renowned wine region. In the neighboring village of São Miguel de Paredes you will find a shop and some restaurants; the village of Penafiel is 14 km away and the historic city of Porto is 40 km away.
Huge oak doors make a splendid first impression and open onto the courtyard where former stables have been converted into six cozy bedrooms, one double and five twins, each with an en suite bathroom and TV. All rooms are accessible from the courtyard. Inside, a large kitchen that includes a wood-burning oven. There is a timeless charm in the delightfully rustic living and dining room, where the granite walls, oak doors and low wooden paneled ceiling combine in style with an imposing wood burning stove.
Outside, the patio is the ideal place to enjoy relaxed summer meals, overlooking the swimming pool, surrounded by a lawn dotted with palm trees and overlooking the wooded hillside beyond the villa.
Additional Information
Maximum capacity of 12 people. The price includes air conditioning, cleaning twice a week - Saturday and others. Towels changed mid-week and sheets changed weekly. There are other services such as meals prepared by the caretakers (drinks not included) and daily breakfast which is available at an extra cost per person.
