With a sense of history, the contrast between ancient and modern is perceptible on the materials present - the stone and wood and the house architecture contrast with the modern and homely, welcoming and romantic décor with ultimate attention to detail - Stylish and comfortable.On ground floor we find the social areas the main lounge and dining areas, the oenotheque (with wine press, where dinners and meal can be served), library, kids play corner the kitchen and service area and cloackroom. From these areas we access the olive tree and lavender patio or the bio vegetable garden and the pool and lawn and other pleasant spots that invite you to peace and laziness. Upstairs we find the bedrooms and more intimate areas. All the rooms are thematic and separated in two different areas, the one dedicated to the Portuguese popular art and the historical area. On the first bedrooms décor is based on themes such as the traditional dances (Vira), products (Wine) or customs. On the second one bedrooms décor are based on the house inspiration personality (Egas Moniz) values, such as Honor, Courage and others. Villa Moniz invites you to let yourself go on a voyage through the traditions and typical uses of the region, suggesting you authentic experiences such as “tapas” and wine tastings, traditional embroidered lover’s handkerchiefs workshops, and also the possibility of renting a bike and discover the Romanesque Route, rafting in Rio Paiva, and wine tastings in local wineries, such as Quinta da Aveleda.
