Casa da Latada is a few kilometers from Santarém, known as the Gothic capital. The Santarém area has as a backdrop the Tagus and the fertile floodplains (Lezírias) to the south, and a landscape dominated by vineyards and olive groves. Agriculture dominates the region, which is also famous for cattle breeding, horses and bullfighting. The Serra d´Aire Natural Park and Candeeiros are other attractions.

 
Lisbon is a 45-minute drive away. Fátima is 30 minutes away, as is the coast (Foz do Arelho, Peniche). Nazaré is 45 minutes away.
